TONYA VERBEEK (Canadian Olympian, 3x Olympic Wrestling Medalist)
Tonya grew up in Beamsville, ON and is a graduate from Brock University. She started training with Coach Jmac in 2005 which led to her preparation for the 2008 and 2012 Olympic Games, in which she medalled at both Olympics as well as at various World and Pan Am Championships. Tonya was the first woman in Canada to ever win an Olympic Medal in Wrestling at an Olympic Games. Her Olympic medals include (Silver Medal in 2004, Bronze Medal in 2008 and another Silver Medal in 2012 at the London Olympic Games). Coach Jmac got to be a part of Tonya’s 2012 Olympic Silver Medal experience. Tonya is now the Head Coach for Wrestling Canada and still works with Coach Jmac.
LUCAS BAHDI (3 x Canadian National Boxing Champ)
Lucas is born and raised in Niagara Falls, ON and has been training with Jmac for 2 years. He is a 3 x Canadian National Boxing Champion in the 60 kg Weight Class. Lucas is preparing for the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo, Japan.
JESSIE MACDONALD (World Champion, Wrestling)
Jessie is a decorated Brock Badger Wrestler who is presently on Team Canada training for the 2020 Olympic Games. She has been training with Coach Jmac for over 10 years. Jessie is a multi National Canadian Champ, 2013 World Champion, and a Silver Medallist at the 2018 Commonwealth Games. Her husband Evan MacDonald is also a former Olympian from the 2004 Olympic Games and also trained with Coach Jmac.
CAL CLUTTERBUCK (NHL Hockey Player)
Cal is born and raised in Welland, ON and trained with Coach Jmac throughout his Junior career until getting drafted into the NHL in 2006. He was drafted by the Minnesota Wild and now is the Assistant Captain of the New York Islanders.
TAYLOR BECK (NHL Hockey Player)
Taylor grew up in St. Catharines, ON and trained with Coach Jmac as a Junior Player until being drafted into the NHL by the Nashville Predators in 2009. He has played for the New York Islanders, Edmonton Oilers, and New York Rangers.
PAUL BISSONNETTE (NHL Hockey Player)
Paul grew up playing minor hockey in Welland, ON and training with Coach Jmac for many years. He was drafted into the NHL in 2003 by the Pittsburg Penguins. Paul has played for the Phoenix Coyotes, Pittsburg Penguins and the St. Louis Blues. Biznasty is now a Sports Commentator for the Arizona Coyotes radio show.
DANNY SYVRET (NHL Hockey Player)
Danny grew up in Millgrove, ON and started training with Coach Jmac at the early age of 14. He was drafted into the NHL in 2005 by the Edmonton Oilers. In 2005, Danny played for the London Knights who won the Memorial Cup, and was also a part of the Canadian Junior World Hockey Team who won Gold against Russia. He has played for the Edmonton Oilers, Philadelphia Flyers and Anaheim Ducks.
ANDRE DEVEAUX (NHL Hockey Player)
Andre grew up playing minor hockey in Welland, ON and training with Coach Jmac during his Junior career. He was drafted by the Montreal Canadiens in 2002. During his NHL career, he played for the Toronto Maple Leafs, New York Rangers and the Montreal Canadiens.
JAMES PATRICK (NHL Hockey Player)
James grew up in Winnipeg, MA and played an astonishing 23 years as a Professional Hockey Player. During his career, he played for the New York Rangers, Hartford Whalers, Calgary Flames, and the Buffalo Sabres. It was in Buffalo when James started training with Coach Jmac.
DARCY HORDICHUK (NHL Hockey Player)
Darcy is now retired from the NHL but had a successful 13 year career playing professional hockey. He was drafted by the Atlanta Thrashers in 2000 and played for various teams including Vancouver Canucks, Nashville Predators, Phoenix Coyotes, Florida Panthers and the Edmonton Oilers.
PATRICK MCCREADY (NLL Professional Lacrosse)
Patrick grew up in Niagara and had a successful 16 year long career in the NLL. He trained with Coach Jmac for several years to focus on his speed and agility as well as his strength and power development. He has played for various teams in the NLL including the Buffalo Bandits where he won a couple World Championships, the Toronto Rock, and Rochester Knights where he also won another World Title Championship. He also Ranks 2nd overall in the NLL for most penalty minutes.
MARK STEENHUIS (NLL Professional Lacrosse)
Mark has been playing in the NLL for over 18 years. Most of that time has been spent with the Buffalo Bandits. He trained with Coach Jmac during 2004 through 2007 while playing for the Bandits. During that time, Mark was named NLL MVP Player of the year as well as MVP of multiple all star games.
TIM SCHRIVER (Canadian Olympian, Rowing Canada)
Tim made his move to the Men’s National Rowing Team in 2015 and represented Team Canada at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio. He won a Bronze Medal at the 2015 World Cup and 2 Gold Medals at the 2015 Pan Am Games in Toronto. He started training with Coach Jmac in 2012 and all throughout his Varsity career at Brock University up to the 2016 Olympic Games.
CARLING ZEEMAN (Canadian Olympian, Rowing Canada)
Carling joined Team Canada’s Women’s Rowing Team in 2013. She has had a very successful career which has included the following wins (Bronze Medal at the 2012 U23 World Championships, Silver Medal in the 2013 U23 World Championships, Silver Medal at the 2013 Senior World Championships). In 2015, Carling went back to Single Sculls rowing and won 2 Gold Medals at the 2015 Pan Am Games in Toronto, and later went on to compete at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio. Carling trained with Coach Jmac from 2011 through to 2015 where she then moved to London, Ontario to train full time with the Women’s National Program.
ERIC WOELFL (Canadian Olympian, Rowing Canada)
Eric is born and raised in the City of St. Catharines, ON and made Team Canada in 2011. He started with the National Team at the 2011 Pan Am Games as a member of the lightweight 4. He also competed at the 2012 Senior World Championships as a lightweight pair. Eric went on to win a Gold Medal at the 2015 Pan Am Games in Toronto and later represent Team Canada at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio. He trained with Coach Jmac from 2011 through to the 2016 Olympic Games.
SAEED AZARBAYJANI (Canadian Olympian, Wrestling Canada)
Saeed’s birthplace is Shahr-Eray, Iran but has been living in Canada (St. Catharines) for over 20 years. He Wrestled for the Brock Badgers Wrestling club and represented Team Canada at the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing. Saeed trained with Coach Jmac from 2005 through to the 2008 Olympic Games. He is now the head coach for Team Impact Wrestling in Toronto.
Jamine Mian (Canadian Olympian, Wrestling Canada)
Jasmine was part of the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio, where she finished 12th place. Prior to making the Women’s National Team, Jasmine trained and competed for the Brock University Varsity Wrestling Team. She trained with Coach Jmac from 2008 through to 2013 when she moved to Calgary, Alberta to train full time with the Women’s National Team. Jasmine won Bronze Medals at the 2014 Commonwealth Games, 2010 and 2012 World University Championships and a Gold Medal at the 2014 FISU World Championships.
FRANK DANCEVIC (Professional ATP Tennis, Canadian Olympian)
Frank was born and raised in Niagara Falls, ON and has had a very successful amateur and professional career in Tennis. Frank trained with Coach Jmac during his Junior Career for several years. He started training with Jmac at the very young age of 9 years of old through to his early 20’s. During his career, he represented Team Canada at the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing, competed at several Grand Slams including the 2008 Wimbledon Tournament defeating No. 7 Ranked David Nalbandian, as well as at the French Open, and US Open.
