COACH Jmac (B.A. Hons, M.Ed., C.E.P.-CSEP, NCCP 3)
Coach Jmac is a Strength and Conditioning Coach for High Performance Athletes. He has trained Olympic Medallist’s from the 2004, 2008, 2012 and 2016 Olympic Games as well as a number of Professional Athletes and Personal Clients over the last 15 years (See Clients Page).
Jmac completed his Undergraduate Degree in Applied Health Sciences at Brock University. He then completed a Masters in Education Degree at Brock University, and lectures on a Part-time basis in the Physical Education Kinesiology Department. Coach Jmac is Certified Exercise Physiologist with the Canadian Society for Exercise Physiology (C.E.P.-CSEP). He is also a fully certified Olympic Weightlifting Coach (National Coaching Certification Program, NCCP-3), and has been one of the Designated Strength & Conditioning Service Providers for Canadian Olympic Athletes.
As a former competitive National Team Olympic Weightlifter, who represented Team Canada for 12 years on the International Stage, Coach Jmac understands the day to day training needs required for an athlete to reach Maximal Peak Performance.
Clients training with Jmac will learn how to execute high performance exercises/movements and integrate them into a full encompassing program that addresses (Speed, Agility, Conditioning, Flexibility, Strength, Power and Recovery).
A lot of focus is spent on teaching athletes how to properly execute Olympic Style lifting movements (Power Cleans, Snatches, Squats etc). By doing this, athletes maximize their overall Strength and Power development, which is critical for any sport.
COACH Sam (B.A. Hons)
Samantha is a current competitive Olympic Weightlifter in the 75 kg Class representing TEAM MAC Weightlifting. She is a former Varisty Basketball Player who was the Team Captain of the Brock University Badgers. Samantha played 4 years with the Brock Badgers and holds the record for most rebounds in one game (18).
Prior to playing Basketball at Brock University, Samantha was offered a Full Athletic Scholarship at Michigan State University for Rowing. However, she followed her passion for playing Basketball and completed her undergraduate Honours Bachelor’s Degree in Media and Communications Studies at Brock University.
Samantha oversee’s the Women’s Group Fitness Training Programs as well as assists with the Youth Development Sports Training Programs at Team MAC. Over the next year, she will be focusing her attention on qualifying for the 2019 Provincial and National Weightlifting Championships.
